Religious Education

Educating our Youth

Our Religious Program begins in September right before Applefest and ends (depending on Easter) in May with our First Communion celebration and Crowning of Mother Mary.

Classes are each Sunday (unless otherwise noted, i.e. school holidays).  Our session begins directly after 9:30 a.m. Mass.  Our kids are invited to have a light snack before classes and classes will begin at 10:45 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m.  with a small assembly with Fr. Alan.

To begin with, for very young children, it may often be difficult to  comprehend what is happening in a sermon or during the Mass because they  are designed on a level that kids cannot yet understand (making it hard  for them to sit quietly and pay attention). Religious Ed, on the other  hand, teaches the same concepts and  values as Mass, in an easier way that is geared towards the students’ ages and  levels of understanding. These classes engage students through song, books   and games — all while reinforcing the religious truths learned during the week and catering to the seven types of learning styles.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

It begins with an awareness... or a stirring in one's heart for something more.

It could be a curiosity or a sense of longing for fulfillment.  Maybe it is God calling you to explore the life of faith, love and justice within the community of the Catholic Church... The one TRUE church passed down to us for over 2000 years, by apostolic succession.
